Most of the wool I have is Alpaca from Peru. The largest number of balls in any colour will be 9 as these bags I couldn't return when the shop closed. Hopefully you will be knitting for children or scarves and hats. Alpaca Yarns do have a website if you wish to find out where to purchase patterns but if you use a pattern for an equal ply wool you should be Ok.
With winter on its way now is the time and there is a certain sense of satisfaction to be gained from knitting someone you love something warm to wear while sitting and watching television of an evening.
